The restaurant is gorgeous but does not live up to all that you hear about it. The food was average, you can find a version of it elsewhere. My order came drenched in red wine. The taste was quite overpowering. Aside from all of that, the food is not as overpriced as some say. It honestly depends on what you order. I went with someone and our tab came up to $70. We ordered an appetizer, each had an entre, and two desserts, not to mention drinks. So, yeah. Don't be afraid to dine here. It was a wonderful experience. Enjoyed the food for the most part. Waiter was nice, did take quite a long while to get our order and our food. Must be patient.

This place can be EXPENSIVE! Twice that I can recall with large groups we spent over $500 on dinner and drinks! But, the atmosphere, food, service and entertainment is some of the highest quality you will find in Modesto. Owned by the famed Gallo family of Modesto, you can always be sure the wine is top quality and the chef, who is also renowned, will ensure the best dinner for the price. Although dinner is pricey, lunch at Galletto offers a much cheaper version of their dinner menu which has even included Kobe beef hamburgers!! YUMMO! I have eaten lunch for around $10 bucks there and, you still get the amazing service you would expect during a high class dinner.

Hmmmmmmmm where do I begin??? The inside is nice but no privacy at tables. I made reservations SEVERAL days in advance for my husbands birthday, arrived and STILL had to wait OVER 30mins to be seated on a Thursday night. "Fritto" Appetizer was not ALL that. Had to ask for bread twice, the waitress was S-L-O-W and non existent! A long wait for the dinner and salad. Not to mention we were seated near the door, each time someone entered or exited we froze! During dinner the lights (which are dimmed) got dimmer and flickered a few times.?? Dinners are pricey for the small portion sizes. I was discusted. We will not return.

It's a 'grandiose' restaurant and the outside patio is actually very nice but the biggest problem here is the service! I have tried it 4 times in three years and have been disappointed every time. Everything from 'lost reservation' to rude and/or confused hostess to waiters who don't know their food. I had to send soup back that was not hot... Once you get your food it's very good but minuscule portions definitely are not worth the hefty prices. The word 'pretentious' comes to mind every time I'm there... It could be a really good restaurant, very centrally located downtown, but they need to get their personel problem solved and offer at least medium sized portions.

Our first visit to Galletto was fabulous! The food was delicious and creative, the ambiance - lovely, the service - superior. We'd go back in a heart-beat!
