I absolutely love Tresetti's. It is probably the most romantic restaurant in town. I love sitting on the patio with the heaters. The staff is very friendly and fun! I look forward to eating there whenever I can break away for a romantic night out with my husband. The wine list is awesome and the food is incredible. I recently celebrated my anniversary there for 60+ guests and Tresetti's did a phenomenal job on the food and the presentation. They always treat my friends and I wonderfully and we have an amazing experience.

This place is awful. I had read a lot of good reviews about how the food is amazing and "san francisco style," and since I live in San Francisco and eat out there a lot, I had high expectations. Sadly, they were quickly squashed. The food was sub-par and exorbitantly overpriced for the quality. I ordered the duck, which was supposed to be "citrus and lavender scented," which it was not. Trust me, lavender is one of my favorite flavors, and there was no lavender in this dish. The potato and parsnip fritter was tasteless - it tasted simply like deep fried starch. No seasoning, not even salt. It was memorable only for its blandness. The sauce a l'orange was simply a brown sauce with no flavor. The lavender and citrus salad was a few sprigs of frisee lettuce and a few microscopic pieces of orange. Again, no lavender. Even the bread that they served was sub-par!. It was cold and hard - it was clear that it had been sitting out for a while. The only good thing I can say was that my duck was reasonably tender. The service was poor as well. Granted I had a fairly large group (6 or so of us) but we kept ordering drinks only to have them show up 10 minutes later after we'd asked for them again. Additionally (and this, I admit, is of no fault of the restaurant), inebriated older gentlemen kept approaching our table to "compliment" my group (all female, all in our early 20's) and ruining our dinner. Drink prices are decent, but my wine was only okay. All of the chardonnays were from California, which in my opinion is a mark of a poor wine list (come on, they have a wine shop next door!) and our waitress made poor wine suggestions. San Francisco this is most definitely NOT. I have never paid so much for such a poor meal in the city, and now that I know, I won't make the same mistake in Modesto again.

A frequent hangout on weekends and occasional weeknights for many of my friends. Great calamari, they actually know how to cook it unlike many retayrants. Love the roasted garlic and Brie appetizer. Love the truffle raviolli, it's expensive and small portion but...so decadent and amazing!!!! MMMMM!!!! I have a friend who works ther and she really makes the place light up with her personality as well as Rob the bartender who served me my first drink on my 21st bithday in 2001 :) Love this place!!!

This is still the best restaurant in Modesto. Many others come and go but Tresetti's keeps a steady course with consistently delicious, innovative and fresh food; nice atmosphere and very good wine selection. (The attached wine shop doesn't hurt.) Their deserts are to die for, especially anything with chocolate! Very nice decor and classical or jazz music that's not too loud. They also have a great bar. Prices are very reasonable for the high quality and good quantity food they offer.
